When upgrading to 3.2, you’ll notice that things look very similar to 3.1 BUT it has the addition of an exciting new feature: Quick Questions! This new product allows you to ask a singular question to your users at any point in your app. For the first iteration, the question is available in multiple choice only. Later versions will have open ended, yes/no, and rating scale questions as well.

Follow along here to set up your very first question…

CURRENCY

If you haven’t already done so, the first step is to create a currency. Adding currencies can be found in the Settings section under Currency:

PLACEMENT

From here, you will want to make sure you have a placement created for where you want the Quick Question to go. As a reminder, a placement is the physical location of where the Quick Question will be shown to your user (ie the home screen or the earn center).

Good to know:
A Quick Question has to be attached to an “Automatic” Placement and not a “Manual” one. This is because the user shouldn’t have to click a button to access the Quick Question like they do with the survey wall. Quick Questions will be triggered automatically to users who have the attributes you are targeting on.

CONTENT

Once you’ve got your placement, it’s time to create your content (aka Quick Question)! Select the Create content button in the upper right hand corner and then select “Multiple choice question.”

COMPOSE

Now it’s time to compose your very first Quick Question in the content builder. Enter your question, your answer options, and whether the question will be single-select or multi-select. For the answer options, you can also add a “None” option and/or choose to “Randomize” the answers.

Good to know:
There is no character limit on “Question” or “Answers” text but be sure to look at the preview on the right hand side of the builder to see what it will look like to your end user. The more text, the more your users will have to scroll.

There is also no limit on answer options. Feel free to add as many answers as you want! Be aware again, however, of how much scrolling it will be for your users.

QQ compose tips:

  • Best practice is to keep answer options at 7 or fewer to optimize your data quality

  • The randomize toggle is there to help avoid bias based on the order of your answer options, which helps maintain data integrity

CONFIGURE

Once your Quick Question has been composed, it’s time to configure how it will be shown to your user. You will need to select your placement from the dropdown to determine where it will be shown. Then, you need to determine whether to provide a reward to your users for answering the Quick Question. Lastly, you will need to add a target audience. This is where you get to determine which of your user base sees this Quick Question.

Good to know:
If you do not select a currency, we will not provide a quick link to the TapResearch survey wall for your users at the end of the Quick Question. If you do not wish to reward a user but do wish to have a link for your users to access the TapResearch survey wall, please select a currency and leave the “Reward amount” field blank.

“Target audience” is where your user attributes will be available for targeting. For more information about what user attributes are, how they can be used, and how to set them up, please view our User Attributes and Targeting documentation.

GO LIVE

When you have completed all of the steps above, it is time to put the Quick Question into action! Hit “Submit” in the bottom right corner and get ready for responses to start flooding in.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to developers@tapresearch.com or your Account Manager contact for additional support.
